Just two weeks prior, Palmyra topped Warwick handily in the PIAA District III Class 2A championship contest.
But, the November 15 rematch at Cumberland Valley in the state finals was anything but one-sided.
Still, Palmyra proved ready for the rematch as the Cougars held off Warwick 3-2 in the state final to capture the PIAA 2A championship.
Palmyra won its fourth state title, outscoring opponents 14-3 in the tournament.
Warwick, which also has four PIAA championships, scored 20 goals in the first three state tournament games en route to the finals.
